Arquiesa was founded in 2003 to focus on the structural and foundation design of buildings. We work as consultants within the project led by the architects who designed it: from calculating the structure to partial or full site supervision.

Our work is specialised in structural design and analysis. From there we deliver what the architectural project requires, balancing the safety and the cost of the solution.

What really matters is designing structures. Calculating them is not so hard; what comes afterwards, producing clear and appropriate drawings, counts too.

How we see our work

Four things we do not compromise on

    Our own reading of every project

    We do not work with standard solutions. Every building has its own reasons — the ground, the architecture, the budget, how it will be built — and the structure comes from there, not from a catalogue.

    Drawings that can be built

    Reinforcement drawings are made with the steel fixer and the site foreman in mind. A structure that is well calculated but badly drawn ends up badly built, and that is paid for on site.

    Answering while it is being built

    We take responsibility for what we sign: we answer questions of interpretation during construction and propose solutions when something unexpected comes up. It is not an extra; it comes with the commission.

    Up-to-date tools

    We analyse every project with several structural analysis programs, kept at their latest versions, and develop the structure in Revit when the project is run in BIM. The practice also holds professional indemnity insurance.

We visit the sites we supervise. The structure is checked before every pour, not once it is finished.

We are not tied to one place. The calculation is done in the office and the site supervision on site, wherever the project is being built. The projects page has details of the work we have done.
